Hi Concerned,

It because of bad breaks ... but seriously - I remember when you sent in this comment and no I was not driving an weaving - you just could not because the traffic was not moving. Besides, I was on 93 for a very short time - got on at exit 7 and left on exit 9 - not enough time and distance to drive crazy as you imply... I might have changed a line once or twice, bit as I said, I did not stay on 93 more than 2 exits in very heavy afternoon traffic ...

First, I love my Prius.
Second, I have Two.
One is a 2002 Prius Classic and the other a 2010 Gen 3.
Both cars do the same braking problem thats not a problem at all in my opinion. and I say my opinion because everyone has their opionion right or wrong.
O.K. Now thats out of the way. Here's what I come up with in my experiance with both Cars.
Their no problem with the Brakes.
And if you don't beleive my get closer behind me and we'll find out.
What I've found is the regenerative braking is kicking out because of the sudden disruption of the wheels over a so manhole cover or slipery area that hybrid system goes into a protect mode momentarily from regenerative braking that it gives the feel of lost brakes when they are still their.
want proof. when it happens PUSH HARDER ON THE PEDDLE.
If you are very accostom to your Prius you will notious regen won't work. unless you take your foot off the brake and reapply. But lets not try and have a accident now.
Both cars do the same, My older one more prone "to me" than my newer one. I just push harder to stop.
People have to relize It has a ecvt transmission, It is different, nothing shifts gears, it stays all connected. all the time, But thats another story.
And my brake work beautifully.

Funny, my husband just called me because he is driving behind you on the expressway right now, and asked me to look up this site. Seems you are driving like an a-hole, weaving in and out of rush-hour traffic - ON THE EXPRESSWAY. Sounds like you've become a little less concerned about the brake issue. I just hope your faulty brakes (careless driving?) doesn't cause an accident...

I too have a 2010 Toyota Prius. Most of the time I love this car. Except when I need to stop on uneven pavement. When I'm on bumps, manhole covers, metal plates or strips or near a speed bump my car lunges forward. It's not a good feeling to be thrown forward and have no control over the vehicle I am operating. Often, I fear I will hit the car in front of me. Have you had any luck getting this resolved? I've complained to my dealer several times to no avail. My next step is Toyota corporate and NHTSA. Toyota is now advertisind 1 million per hour is going to safety improvements. This means very little to someone whose life flashes before their eyes 3 times a day while behind the wheel of her 2010 Toyota Prius that I Can't Stop!

I have seen the same thing on my 07' Prius.
There is a set of RxR tracks that every time I go over them while slightly braking the car lurches forward a couple feet before it 'catches' itself.
It would only be a problem if I were 20" tailgating someone while braking while going over those RxR tracks..or I guess maybe a Manhole cover!
